Aggregate and Assault

Hi guys, It's been a while since my last little blog post. Truth be told I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out just what to write on as I work on planning out those 'big hitter' posts I talked about a few months ago.

So what we're going to discuss today is kind of a subsection of what I'm working on. Yes, we're (and by we I mean I) going to give you guys some pointers on how to improve your clients product sales by utilizing the web and little to no advertising. In this instance, we're going to assume your client has some creative work like a short film they're trying to sell.

The first and most key thing you're going to need to do is identify the market you want to target with this approach. If you're going after seniors, facebook and twitter aren't the way to go. From here you're going to want to make a Facebook group as well as a Twitter page for it. Obvious enough right? Now is when you'll want to start abusing those networking aspects of social network sites. Have everything cross link to it, post a link in any electronic signatures the client may have, etc. Essentially talk up the movie.

You're also going to want to contact and do press releases for film websites like Indiewire to help continue to spread the word.
When it comes to actually distributing the film, places like iTunes are pretty cost effective and have a decent royalty return rate. However if your client is looking for something more physical print on demand place like Createspace is a great option. Amazon is also pretty handy tool to use. Not just because of the wide range of users it has, but for how it's search function works. It's run on an algorithm of popularity, popularity being how many times the amazon link has been clicked. You can 'fool' it by just searching for your clients films title and spending 5 minutes or so of just clicking on the link to rise it through the ranks.

Another thing that you're client most likely knows is that the film needs an official website as well as to be brought to relevant festivals and events for screenings as well as

These are just a few quick and dirty tips of some easy and free (to you) things you can do for a client if they happen to want help getting attention for a film they've produced.
